The Shortest Distance Between Two Points is a Straight Line

Sometimes the best strategic plan is the simplest one.

Having a strategy in business is crucial because it lends focus and helps determine direction. However, sometimes business owners and management spend too much time strategizing and not enough time implementing.

There are times when people who are extremely intelligent think on a higher level than those who are not as intelligent and might over-analyze and look for answers or solutions that are far more complicated than necessary.

This is an example when being too intelligent is actually counterproductive. A strategy or solution doesn’t necessarily have to be complicated to be effective.

Frequently the answer or solution is actually a simple one. Remember, the shortest distance between two points is a straight line.

Greg Satell, in Stupid Strategy suggests that there are times when super intelligent people should “dummy down” their “intellectual exercises”.

Check our Greg’s article here. It is a great post written by a very intelligent, intuitive professional.
